This movie is a wonderful action-musical where vehement shootings and hot car chases substitute dancing and singing. After Marvel studios had fired director Edgar Wright from Ant-Man, he prepared to make his decades-long dream come true: to direct a movie where all action scenes are choreographed to current pop-rock hits.
Nobody has to worry: the characters wont burst into song while chasing each other through the streets, it's just that the film's hero, Baby, who happens to be a driver with special task, has a tendency for listening to music while doing his job. He lets the rythm of the music guide his movements as he drives the car, and as his employers are gangsters, and he has to transport them to the scenes of the robberies, he gets his share of action too.
This film is just as cool as one would expect it from a movie made by the director of 'Hot Fuzz' and 'Scott Pilgrim vs. the World' starring Kevin Spacey, Jamie Foxx, Jon Hamm and Ansel Elgort. Very much so.
