The performance gives us an insight into one of the great secrets of life: how we strive to grow up, and become a man. How this happens inevitably through difficult and sometimes painful stages. How we take our place finally in the world. A child is watching his father silently... that's how it all begins.
It is no more or less then the expression – through reflecting on a memory – of our shared experience, so in the end we will all think of the same person: our father. Of course the woman is equally a part of our story, just as the man – since there are no leaves without a tree. The Sky from my Father’s Window guides us through a fictional story, not only with dance and music, but also with the instruments of puppet theatre, motion picture and live speech, walking on the road designated for us, and for the audience. The performance is also an expression of gratitude: so we can say how good it is to walk on the road of our predecessors, so we can tell the story of how deep impressions they have left behind themselves.
