The band has just won the Hungarian Music Awards in the 'Best World Music Album of the Year' category. Their story began when Bulgarian musician Emil Biljarszki met Hungarian singer Annamária Oláh. Meszecsinka (meaning 'little moon' in Bulgarian) is the love child of the two artists, and this bright satellite on the sky of Hungarian music continues to cast a spell over the audience with its originality and the elementary energies their concerts unchain every time among the attendees.
Their debut album was released in 2012 and caught the attention of the critics and the public with its richness and complexity, not to mention the incredible, suggestive presence of the singer Annamária Oláh, who enticed everybody during live performances, her body following every rhythm of the music and her voice embracing so many realms between being like a young girl and being a powerful witch.

Meszecsinka's music draws inspiration from various sources: Spanish flamenco, Hungarian, Bulgarian, Russian and Tzigane folk music traditions, but also Oriental music. The empathic presence of percussive elements and bass guitar results in an energy which is very similar to that of a rock concert, making the public experience something very hypnotic like in psychedelic or tribal music. They are also a rather successful 'export item', they go on tour a lot and their concerts are more and more popular in countries like Russia, Macedonia or Bulgaria, and they also got rave reviews after their performance in New York.
