The remake of a classic horror film made in 1977 by Dario Argentino. A young American dancer starts her studies at a European dance school but soon she discovers that the school is merely a cover for bloodthirsty witches and their evil schemes. Her life turns into a nightmare and she must find a way to escape.
Luca Guadagnino has not only made a remake as the new version is a quite different experience compared to the classic. This film is significantly longer, there are some extra subplots and the dominant color is grey. But the focus is still on the witches leading the dance school and the heroine's struggle against them. The choreography is really amazing, and there are a lot of brutality in this version too. Still,, it is definitely not a masterpiece as it feels too long and the subplots are meaningless. As The Guardian has put, it "Luca Guadagnino’s horror remake has sex and style but fails to bewitch."
