Contemporary art continues to be a rather controversial topic: nobody would doubt the value of Leonardo da Vinci's 'The Last Supper', but in the case of unconventional 21st century art criticism can be harsh sometimes, as a certain part of the public regards it only as a razzle-dazzle.
Sceptics and experts can both find 'The Price of Everything' an enjoyable cinema experience, but a minimal amount of openness is required from the part of the cinemagoers, as the film dives deep into the unorthodox universe of an elite group. In this documentary artists, art historians, collectors and businessmen help us to gain insight into contemporary art and its market, which is literally blooming in the last few years. The narrative tackles an exciting subject: the connection between art and money. Perhaps we will never experience a real illumination regarding this topic, but the film has some really memorable moments, thanks to the creative artists and their work.
