"Everybody shines!"

Interview with Kevin Hart & Dwayne Johnson
The world's biggest action star and America's most popular stand-up comic actor: their collaboration prooved to be very successful in 'Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle', so the sequel is coming to cinemas this week.
What's the most important thing about 'Jumanji: The Next Level'?
K.H.: Of course you want to have a message that people can take when they leave the theatre. When you have a family action-adventure movie, you will love to have a message that's bringing people close together.

D.J.: We wanted to expand the Jumanji universe, to have fun, create new characters, bring in new actors whom people love (Awkwafina, Danny Glover, Danny DeVito and a few others - that's a surprise!) but we also wanted to make sure that we had that fundamental thing that made the first Jumanji super-appealing to audiences around the world. That fundamental thing is just its heart. We got lucky in the first movie as we made some people laugh, and I think we are going to make some people laugh with this one.

How did you feel about playing the avatars of two elderly people?
K. H.: It was an opportunity we were both excited to have. After embarking on a journey of embracing the "Dannies", we found a lot of fun with each other. It is a good thing from a creative perspective.

D.J.: Speaking of acting, when people will see Kevin embodying Danny Glover, they are going to love it! By the way, everybody shines, so it is great.

What are your hopes about the reception of 'Jumanji: The Next Level'?

K.H.: We want people to come out to the theatre because it is a feel-good film: it is for families, for friends.

D.J.: The expectations are high because the first Jumanji film did pretty good and made a lot of people happy. As for the spectacle, everything is practical: from the deserts to the dunes, the snow-capped mountains and the jungles (we went back to Hawaii), everything is practical. So it is the kind of movie you have to experience on a big screen.
