A Quiet Place

This brilliant thriller stunned critics and audience following its world premiere at the SXSW Film Festival in Austin this March. The public can't remain simply a passive observer while seeing this film, because it is designed to make you an active participant in a cruel game of tension.
Director John Krasinski (we can also see him in the leading role together with his wife Emily Blunt) has created a movie which depends entirely on silence and the most soft sounds. In our days when movies in the cinemas are gtting louder and louder, attacking our senses violently, 'A Quiet Place' is a very refreshing experience.

The story takes places in a post-apocalyptic world, where mysterious monsters have killed the major part of humanity. But the Abbott family is still trying to survive: they have the ability to adapt to this new world, they make strict rules and they live their everyday life according to that. Because in fact these mysterious monsters are completely blind, and if you can get along without making a sound, then they can't hunt you. If you have ever played a game like this with your friends when you were a kid, you must know how hard it is to remain perfectly silent even for five or ten minutes. So it is a real game of tension: how long can life continue like that, without a laughter, without a cry, without a scream: as the mother of the family happens to be pregnant, the question is more than relevant under those circumstances.
